William Tilghman was a federal judge on the United States Circuit Court for the Third Circuit. He was nominated by President John Adams on February 26, 1801. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 2, 1801, and received commission on March 3, 1801. He served until the court was abolished on March 8, 1802.
