William Giles Jones (1808-1883) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama.

He received a recess appointment from President James Buchanan on September 29, 1859. On January 23, 1860, he was officially nominated. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 30, 1860, and received commission that same day.[1] He resigned on January 12, 1861. Jones was succeeded in this position by George Washington Lane.
