Dale A. Drozd is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. President Barack Obama nominated Drozd to the Eastern District of California on November 12, 2014. Drozd's nomination was confirmed by the Senate on October 5, 2015.[1][2]

Drozd served as a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California from 1997 to 2015. He was appointed to this position on September 15, 1997.[3]

Education

Judge Drozd received his B.A. degree from California State University in 1977 and his J.D. degree from the University of California School of Law in 1980.[3]

On November 12, 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Dale A. Drozd to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California in 2014. Drozd was nominated to fill the vacancy created by Anthony Ishii, who assumed senior status on October 31, 2012. On Drozd's nomination:

The American Bar Association rated Drozd Unanimously Well Qualified for the nomination.[5]

Drozd's nomination was returned on December 31, 2014. He was renominated by President Barack Obama on January 7, 2015.[6]

Drozd had a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 6, 2015.[7]

Drozd's nomination was confirmed by the Senate on October 5, 2015.[2]

Eastern District of California magistrate

Drozd was appointed as a magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California on September 15, 1997. He has served as the chief magistrate since 2011.[3]
