how long did making this site take you?

The first version of my website was made over the course of several days as I was camping with my family for a week. There was no blog yet, but it still looks similar to how my homepage looks today, just with a new background, 88x31 buttons, and new projects I've worked on since.

As for the blog, that came a few weeks later, and it would see a complete facelift 2 years later. A bonus fun fact (because otherwise this paragraph would've been too short): the ask box came exactly 2 days after the blog redesign :3

how big / small is chailotl

Chailotl was originally 3 feet tall, as that seemed like an appropriate size for a quadruped-capable creature, but over time as I redesigned her I wanted her to fit in better with the sonas of my friends. Now she is 5'2, which still makes her smaller than most, but not totally diminuitive like she once was >w<

Awww thank you! I've been working on my site for close to two years, adding new things and polishing little things here and there. I've learned a lot about the frontend and backend technologies, and I've become a better web designer too.

Our little peach tree did really well last year, and produced ~100-200 peaches, but had some mold growing on some of them. We spent ~1-2 months checking for moldy peaches and removing them in hopes of mitigating the molds spread. We lost quite a few but still got plenty for smoothies!

Oh that's awesome Lucia! :o I'm surprised one tree could produce so many peaches in a season, I bet there was no end to peach recipes, huh? Reminds me of how a few years ago, my family regularly went strawberry picking during summer, so we had strawberry dishes every day. Smoothies, jams, overnight oats, and even strawberries in pasta. (A Polish classic!)

My family planted 16 fruit tree saplings last year, so I'm excited for all the apples, pears, and plums they'll be producing! Hopefully mold won't be as big of a problem for us as it was for you ^^;

As for your question, I've just been slicing and eating my peaches, but peach cobblers are super yummy. It brings back an old memory when I was in scouts, where we made peach cobbler in a dutch oven. That alone cemented my desire to own a dutch oven to use on my own campouts. Despite not owning one yet, I already have a dedicated recipe book lol

I think a peach lassi would be interesting to try! I've had mango lassis before, they're a popular creamy Indian drink, and peaches seem like a close enough substitute for mangos.

Best pikmin type?

I've never played Pikmin, (though I intend to in the future) so picking what I think is the best pikmin type is gonna be a little hard. I think the pointy noise of the red pikmin is the most iconic, but I'm gonna go with the puffmin from Pikmin 1 because mushrooms are awesome :3

I would love for my website to be that way too, but autism makes it hard for me to creatively express myself like that.

Yay yippee!!

You know, fish are the favorite food of axogatos like my Chailotl, but the real me is a lot more picky when it comes to fish. I don't like dealing with fish bones, and some fish species just suck, like swordfish and salmon.

Swordfish steak is incredibly bland, and $10/lb would be too expensive for me, nevermind the $20/lb price tag it commands. Salmon on the other hand tastes rather unpleasant unless you slather it with a honey glaze, but everything tastes better slathered in honey anyways.

Some of my favorite fish species are cod and monkfish. They taste great on their own, and a little bit of extra like freshly squeezed lemon and butter goes a long way. Plus they're both very affordable!

As for other seafood? I love all of them. Crab, lobster, octopus, squid, shrimp, scallops, mussels...

I was also stressed out a lot during that time, but not because of BlanketCon, but college instead. Often through the semester when I got home I would just collapse; I could hardly bring myself to work on anything. Because I didn't have much energy to work on BlanketCon, I put very little on my plate, which meant I didn't have to endure a lot of stress thankfully ^_^;

What had me the most stressed about BlanketCon was feeling like I wasn't doing enough to support the team, but hama made sure I knew that it was okay that I had to take a break to deal with life stuff. So let's say I was 3/24,000,000 on the stress scale? I'm sure these rookie numbers will be pumped up for next BlanketCon though :3

The first Pokémon to be my favorite was Yanmega as I thought it was a really cool design, with Skorupi being a close second for the same reason. Later on Turtwig became my favorite because he was my partner in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, and for some time I really liked Meowstic. Nowadays there's a lot more Pokémon I like, so it's tough picking one favorite, but I'll go with Buizel!

What's your favorite type of tea and what do you usually like to add into it? Do you like a more bitter tea or a little bit of sweetness to go with it!

Maybe my name gave it away, but masala chai is my favorite tea! It is a blend of black tea with spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and black peppercorns. It originates from India and is traditionally served with milk, and— hey, I see that face you're making! Adding milk to tea isn't that bad; it's no different from adding milk to coffee. The combination of those spices and the milk makes it a peak cozy drink. I usually get it as a chai latte which is sweeter and richer, but both are good.

In the sad absence of chai, I like to go for a nice hot cuppa green tea. I don't have a specific preference when it comes to green tea, but if it has a cool name like "jasmine green tea" then I'll go for it! I also enjoy Lady Grey during breakfast as a milder variation of Earl Grey.

I almost never add anything to my tea, especially not white sugar, but on rare occasions I'll add honey and a squirt of lemon. Throw in some sticks cinnamon, ginger slices, and a star anise and you've got yourself a luxurious drink.

I don't like my tea bitter, but I think they are fine just the way they are without any added sugar. When it comes it iced tea though, sugar is a must because of how temperature affects your taste, amplifying the bitter flavors and muting your ability to taste sweetness.

Aw man, do I have to pick a favorite? I love all the sushis,,

Since it's hard to choose just one flavorite, I like to go for rolls with multiple fillings so I can have more flavors per serving. Tuna sushi is good, but spicy tuna avocado? Now that hits the spot for me. Another one I really like is shrimp tempura drizzled in terriyaki sauce, hmm...~ If I'm ordering sushi at a proper Japanese restaurant though, I like to try something new each time, like snow crab or eel.

I'd like to offer an honorable mention to the 'ol reliable California roll, with its crab stick, avocado, and cucumber. It's a great blank slate to customize with other ingredients, add wasabi to turn up the heat, or dip it in soy sauce to bump up the umami.

It's only 2 days old, so thankfully not yet! I have some basic measures in place like a rate limit and a simple honeypot, which should be sufficient for your run-of-the-mill spam bots. My friend Kett has run an ask box for a few years and said they have never suffered a spam attack.

Before I made a game for the Playdate, I wanted to play through all the games that come with it and write a blog post about it. I think that experience would help me in understanding how to best utilize the crank mechanic when designing my own game, and give me inspiration too.

I learned to program on my own with the help of Google, StackOverflow, and W3Schools! Some documentation helped me for specific languages, like Unity for C#, Discord.js for JavaScript, and even GameMaker for the basics of logic and control flow when I first started out.
