A little cecropia reel to say thank you for a wonderful weekend at PACNWRS! I tried to film some moth content this morning but the Luna moth was flying all over the living room and the Polyphemus were flopping all over the ground so this was the only cooperative one 😂

And the winner of most skrunkliest goes to….. Tiny baby IO moth! 😂

essa é a Dirphia rubricauda, a mariposa-marte. a espécie é nativa do Brasil, com dados de ocorrência recentes no Paraguai. o gênero Dirphia é conhecido por ser venenoso, mas só na fase larval. na fase adulta ela é totalmente inofensiva e muito dócil!

they just BOOGIE their way along 🕺🏼 this is a Protaetia speciosa cyanochlora grub! it’s got a wonderfully chubby body & it’s TINY little legs are pretty useless, so they use their little folds/ridges & hairs on their backs to gain traction to help them move!
