For Gene A. Ral, moving to Foccel promised fresh air, new friendships, and a chance to experience life beyond the city. But on his first day of senior year, he learns that small-town life is not as perfect as it seems. Gene befriends Kade Trembley, the school’s ambitious quarterback, but also crashes into Taylor Swann, a sharp-tongued raptor with a knack for poetry. As Gene adjusts to life in Foccel, his bond for Taylor deepens, though he is not the only one drawn to her.
