The Spectacled Caiman is the most widely distributed species of the New World crocodilians that can be found in Central and Southern America. This medium sized caiman can adapt to both fresh- and salt-water habitat and therefore maintains a wide distribution; right from southern Mexico to the North of Peru and southern Brazil.
