As far as those stupid murder-death-kill things go, this one is not the worst. But not the best either.
Kinda average with a sprinkle of goodness to it, namely the leads here are above average for this kind of genre. Usually, it's some insufferable self-sabotaging halfwit who unwillingly falls into NTR abuse with some yandere waifu on a killing spree, but not this time, no. This time around, the waifu is an unlucky sad girl with a strong muscle and a golden heart and the dude is actually smarter than most of the people in the room. Yay, trope subversion ftw! Sadly, author didn't have enough of it to cover the boring stereotypical side characters.
Can be an entertaining watch. Much more entertaining than the rating would suggest.

It was just a usual morning. Shiroyanagi Akira, a high schooler who loves games and Konpeito (Japanese sweets), has suddenly been dragged into a battlefield by a mysterious girl who calls herself Mion. Interesting powers, though really unbalanced. One character just has super sense of smell while another has 5x physical multiplier.
The production values are subpar, animation in particular, so much so that the fights are pretty painful to look at.
The mind games aren't too mind-blowing either.
But the protagonist's power is interesting and made good use of and for just a simple death game it's a good watch.

Somehow reminded me of hunterXhunter only without vast alternative world adventure plot. Pretty intense pressure battle and survival. To me this one leaves a very strong impressions. The title got my underestimation at first though. Enjoy.

The premise of a death game where everyone is given a unique ability was intriguing. While the premise was good, the characters and execution were weak. This ends without the game concluding, so there may be another season; however this is for fans of death games.

5 seconds in and I knew I would watch it to its end
Rather common premise of battle royale with special abilities. Though I had fun getting introduced to each character and their abilities, and then guess how they would use it
In particular the MC as portrayed to be witty, kept guessing how he outsmart his opponents, and it was pretty entertaining along with the occasional plot twist that tags along
Characters despite cameos also had proper screen time to be introduced of their backstory and motives
Artwork is probably not their forte as technical production quality could be lacking, luckily occasional fan service do exists. Another gripe is the last ep had me wanting but I guess its a stepping stone onto the next season
Overall, quite an entertaining piece, witty moments but not overly complicated and quite an easy watch for those into battle royale or students with super abilities with hints of smart MC. 7/10 for me and definitely waiting for S2

Personally a very fun anime with combination I like: death game, team-based, "logical" ability (more like BnHA than Dragon Ball), and whole ton of ideas. Albeit it sacrifices a lot on plot/content quality (and ofc production quality) -- you should expect as much.
A very enjoyable series if you manage to just stop questioning whatever happens on screen, just a shame it's too short to see how far the author can go with it.
