Cheryl DaVeiga is an award-winning author and songwriter whose work blends music, humor, and heart. Recognized by ASCAP for her songwriting and honored by the Eric Hoffer Book Awards, Mom’s Choice Awards (Gold), Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, and Literary Titan, Cheryl has written seven beloved children’s picture books filled with rhythm, imagination, and sing-along joy.
Cheryl’s middle-grade series, The Orion Sessions, explores friendship, identity, and growing up in the real world. Each book weaves original songs into the narrative, bringing the main character, Orion's, emotional journey to life both on and off the page.
The series grew from a deeply personal place. After building a successful career in accounting and becoming a partner at a national firm, Cheryl eventually found her way back to the music she had set aside—and to the voice she once tucked away to fit in. The Orion Sessions is the series she wishes she’d had at twelve: stories about friendship, mistakes, courage, and learning to sing—and live—for yourself.
Cheryl lives in Tucson with her partner, Doug, and spends summers in New Jersey. She continues to write, sing, and create stories that remind young readers their voices matter.
