Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of this story is the shift from teamwork to conflict. Whereas 14 and The Fold were journeys of discovery, both of mysteries and group dynamics, this story pits two opposing factions against one another without them being aware of the other for most of the book. When open conflict is finally realized, it seems too manufactured and anticlimactic. Actually, it is a bit of a mess.
Ray Porter is amazing, as usual. He is my favorite narrator, and his ability to make this audiobook at all enjoyable is evidence as to why.
In retrospect, I rescind the earlier 4 star comment and stand by the given 3.
Disappointing

I love the concept, I love the story, I love the universe he has created.
I did, however, have some criticisms about this book. my criticisms also stretch out to some of his other books and they are this: It seems lately that towards the end of the last few books he has written (about 65% of the way through) He writes so many twists and turns into the story that it becomes convoluted and borderline silly. I applaud his level of creativity but he doesn't have to write every little thing that he comes up with into every story. this book gets so complicated near the end that I started to lose focus and became a little disinterested.
