-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 1) I updated the moment of inertia so that all three moments of the car are affected equally by the mass centering coefficient. 2) I updated the engine code so that the backfire sound appears more frequently 3) rolling resistance: After a lot of testing with powerful RWD cars with low friction tyres, I have come to the conclusion that a rolling resistance of 0.001 is far too low. Increasing it to 0.01 for most road surfaces works very well, while dirt tracks should probably have it at 0.1 or so. I especially helps a lot when correcting over-steering. It prevents the sudden snap in the other direction which you may experience in some cases. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFKkRevyBv6kELa61sRAkJwAJ9YPY/FsrCM1+UXJGuvUcB9vBvivwCePsm8 B4c87nx4FbP8jiLfGTv7MFs= =MAQH -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

I'm trying to fine tune the electric assist and suspension design for my real-life velomobile with the help of TORCS. I've built a track of a local area to test the real bike against the model, but I've hit a blockade. My bike has 24 gears right now, And I'm looking to increase that. About 16 months ago mart_k made a patch to remove this limitation when I talked to him about it in the IRC channel, however, it doesn't work with the current version, http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=200803041609.13196.mart%40kelder31.nl&forum_name=torcs-devel I don't see how this change could affect anyone not needing the extra gears, In fact it ran fine locally. I note that here ( http://www.nabble.com/using-torcs-for-an-electric-vehicle-td20716531.html ) another user has run into the gearing limitation and the need for an electric drive option. The single rear wheel would be useful for both our projects. If you'd like to look, I have my track and velomobile available on my website ( http://bunny.selfip.org/page.php?id=12 ) so you can see exactly what I'm talking about. So, What are the steps to get this updated and included in the source? --bunny019 |

This is really great. It would be great to have some more F1 cars, even if they are copy+paste copies of the same one with slight modifications, so that one can race in a ~20 car race :-) Thanks, Albert. 2009/8/14 Manfariel <man...@ya...> > Everything that goes into making the web are usable. hi I have some time trying to implement cars and Formula 1 circuit for torcs. Now I work well under way. I created 9 cars and i am completing eleven tracks (tracks only, no circuits) with outstanding, banking, escape, exact length ... Based on racing videos and pictures of googleearth. All this I'm going up to a website that I created. The cars are already uploaded and gradually put online the things that I will finish soon. Web "http://apr-free.info" and section "forsim-torcs". fun ____________________________________________________________________________________ ¡Obtén la mejor experiencia en la web! Dear Folks,
I think I may know about the reason now. As TORCS used the plib open GL library, I also need to recompile the plib library with the multi-threaded C Runtime library.

Subject: [Torcs-devel] a query about TORCS
Dear Folks,
I have a query about the compilation and execution of TORCS. The platform I am working on is Windows VC6. I have downloaded the TORCS source code and compiled and executed it successfully under VC6 with the default debug mode setting (C Runtime library used is Debug Single Threaded).
With the code unchanged, I change the C Runtime library to Debug Multithreaded DLL, the compilation complains about the missing definition of _errno. I solved this compilation error with the addition of a libc_errno.c with the following code in the client project:
extern int * _errno();
int errno() { return (*_errno()); };
The compilation works fine. However, when I run it, a problem occurs complaing about access violation.
Does anyone know the reason? Why just changing the usage of single threaded library to the usage of multithreaded library causes such a serious problem?
Thanks very much.
Regards,
Pan Ke
