Hi all,

There is a 1.2.2-pre1 version of TORCS available on
http://torcs.org/tmp
or
http://torcs.free.fr/tmp

There is also a win32 binary version.

Here are some of the new features:
Graphic:
     * Multiplayer mode with split screen (up to 4 players)
     * Mirror for driver's views

Control:
     * Support for multiple joysticks
     * Separate control configuration by player

Tracks:
     * New (22km) track (unfinished) "Spring"
     * Modified versions of e-track-4, e-track-6 and mixed-1

Cars:
     * K/Cendra cars packs with cool 60's cars (setup incomplete
       and missing a lot of cars)
     * 406 Peugeot

Plus the usual bug fix and robots enhancements.

Hi,

I have added the mirror view feature in CVS,
you can select/unselect the mirror with '9'.

The mirror is available only for "in car" views.

I also changed the background of e-track-6, may be
the image is a little too big...

I have to think on how to provide Hi and Low resolution
packages for the textures.

Hi,

As I'm preparing the 1.2.2, I have done some
modifications in the target directories in order
to separate the exec from the data.

Now the files are shipped in the folowing target dir:

<prefix>/bin       -> commands
(can be overriden by configure --bindir=<dir>)

<prefix>/lib/torcs -> libs and exec binaries (--libdir=<dir>)

<prefix>/share/games/torcs -> data (<prefix>/share can be replaced
by --datadir=<dir>)

The default <prefix> is /usr/local/bin and can be overriden by
configure --prefix=<dir>

The data modified by the program are in $HOME/.torcs
as in 1.2.1


If you update your CVS tree, don't forget to use
the -P option to prune empty directories, or it won't
compile.

Note: anonymous access to CVS is done on a backup system
on sourceforge so there is a 24h delay for the updates to
be visible.

For the 1.2.2 I'm planning a release soon, I have first to
finish the mirror view (almost completed), to have all that
compiling on win32 and also I have to import a new car pack
(sports cars from the 60-70's).

Hi all,

I have just commited modifications in the sources
this morning.
I have rewritten the parameters management code
(the API remains the same except for GfParmWriteFile).

Some xml files have been updated because the new code
does not allow anymore to have multiple sections with
the same name.
The errors are more documented now.

The new features are: a better access to the parameters
with hash tables and the ability to load and store from
xml buffers or files.
The use of old parameters handle will now stop the program
instead of continuing with hazardous behaviour.

I hope there won't be too much problems with that code.
Please signal me any problem you can find.
