Hi All, A new rc5/rc6 version of TORCS is available, I created RPMs for Mandrake 7.2, 8.0 and 8.1 distros. Redhat will follow soon. The major enhancement of this new version is the make / make install process and the RPMs. make no longer install the libraries. The counterpart is that /usr/local/lib should be in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH env variable, or you can use the /usr/local/bin/torcs script to run TORCS (the LD_LIBRARY_PATH is updated here). A note to the developers, the Makefiles have to be changed a little for the robots. For the RPMs, the Mesa-common rpm should be installed and OpenGL too (Mesa or NVidia drivers). you can find the files here: http://torcs.org/tmp I hope there won't be too much problems so I can release the 1.0.0 before Christmas ;-) Have fun, Eric. -- =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= TORCS The Open Racing Car Simulator http://torcs.org =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= |

Hi, The missing file is here: http://torcs.sourceforge.net/tmp/graph.xml you should put the file here src/modules/graphic/ssggraph and then compile and install. Sorry for that, Don't forget to test the TV director view (F11) during races. The debug mode is activated with ./configure --enable-debug Then rebuild all: make clean && make && make install But before that you can look in the 'trace.txt' file in case there is an error logged. I have tried and I am unable to start a race.
What I do:
./configure
make
make install
cd /usr/local/games/torcs
./torcs
The compilation is fine. Just 4/5 warnings.
When I start torcs, the welcome screen works well. Not font problem
anymore.
When I go in Quickrace/Race, I see
...
Loading Simulation Engine...
Loading Graphics Engine...
Then it hangs, no error message and so on.
I tried to deselect a lot of drivers, bu the problem still appeared.
I have Suse 7.2, XFree 4.0.x and the graphics driver from NVidia.
Marc
Ps: I have no idea how you debug torcs ? Also I miss the reason
why the source structure is not the same as the runtime one ?
If you can explain me how to do, I will try to debug.

Hi All, As I am waiting for Bernhard to submit a new version of his Berniw robots ;-) I am preparing the 1.0.0 In order to release it before Christmas I'd like to let you test the rc2 version available here: http://torcs.org/tmp/torcs-1.0.0-rc2.tar.bz2 The changelog with the 1.0.0-pre7 is on the home page. Let me know if you find any problems...
