A windowed / full-screen countdown timer. Colour and font size changes are used as warnings. Progress-bar gives a glance at the time stream. Three different modes are available: - time left; - time passed; - ordinary clock. When the time is over several possibilities are available: - to show the defined message; - to continue count the time; - to launch another application; - to close the count-down timer. Useful for speech, lecture or presentation timing. Colour / font / time limits can be changed using settings window and hot-keys. To change current time use the mouse wheel. By clicking on progress-bar, the timer mode is toggled. -

Double Fractal was first created in the 90s and was the result of a passion for fractals and fractal math. Since then, it has grown including many unique fractals invented by its author. Some fractals were found by chance in 2001 when functions used for artificial intelligence were plotted as fractals. These new fractals were called JP Random Sets. Main idea here is that you can use Nik Plugins stand-alone without officially supported 3rd party host application (Lightroom, Photoshop, Spark, Portfolio). On Windows or Linux. Source code can be compiled natively for Linux or for Windows with Lazarus IDE. The program is dedicated to Ubuntu users, where you can install Nik Collection using wine. On Ubuntu you can either use native Linux version, or native Windows version running via wine. In fact, currently the latter is recommended, because there are some UI glitches related to gtk widgetset if you compile for Linux - the UI looks better in native Windows version (this can be fixed in the future). Even if you use native Windows version on Linux via wine, the app will be aware of wine and will still be integrated with your Ubuntu desktop and will be integrated with supported apps on it, like Gimp, Pinta, Darktable, Nautilus, etc. It will still talk to your shell, and provide all the integration with your Linux. -

Woodland potential calculator GIS presentation application
The Forestry Commission and Natural England commissioned a bespoke data collection and presentation tool for calculating the potential for increasing the extent of tree cover across the north west of England. The data was divided into sub-regions by landscape type using Natural England's Character Area classifications. The potential within each of these Character Areas was then estimated by working groups of local experts who were capable of making reasoned assessments of both the opportunities and constraints to woodland creation. Subsequently, this project was considerably extended and adopted as a national system. It is currently being used to compile the National Woodland Potential dataset for the whole of England. -
