gzx is a C library and a command line tool for fully GZIP-compliant file compression with fast random access read support. gzx includes a FUSE (filesystem in userspace) client that allows to access the compressed files with arbitrary applications.

mfork is a command-line tool to parallelize shell commands. Each line of text fed to it causes mfork to fork off a new process and run the the line of text though a shell. The maximum amount of concurrent processes can be set on the command line.

THIS PROJECT MIGRATED TO https://gitlab.com/mwetoolkit/mwetoolkit3/ The Multiword Expressions toolkit aids in the automatic identification and extraction of multiword units in running text. These include idioms (kick the bucket), noun compounds (cable car), phrasal verbs (take off, give up), etc. Even though it focuses on multiword expresisons, the framework is quite complete and can also be useful in any corpus-based study in computational linguistics. The mwetoolkit can be applied to virtually any text collection, language, and MWE type. It is a command-line tool written mostly in Python. Its development started in 2010 as a PhD thesis but the project keeps active (see the SVN logs). ncclamp is a command-line tool for NetCDF files that allows you to replace values in-place for a variable given the old value to be replaced, the new value, and a comparison operator. The change is applied across all of the variable's dimensions.

progrep is a command-line tool (Linux) to show live progress report, status & stats of a running simulation or compute job that executes a given number of iterations. It shows % completed, time remaining, time elapsed, number of threads, MPI_Rank(if any), CPU usage & speed (FPS). The FPS measures may be used in benchmarking, e.g. while optimizing HPC algorithms for performance. progrep supports both single-threaded and parallel (multicore/multinode - e.g. OpenMP/MPI) jobs. progrep can also report for jobs running on remote hosts, e.g. jobs running on Linux Clusters. progrep works in client-server model. The server can be installed in your simulation source code with only 4 extra lines (API). When the progrep command is invoked, it queries this server as a client. progrep does not interfere with or slow down your simulation when not invoked. Even when invoked, the overhead is insignificant. Out of the box, the API works with Fortran/C/C++ code. See Wiki/README for details.

This is a Linux command line tool to do raw I2C accesses to a bus, IF SUPPORTED BY THE ADAPTER, to probe the bus, read or write some data, detect glitches, do a bench, program an EEPROM with the required blocksize, test the I2C bus driver, ... Raw I2C mode enables data frames that are not supported by SMBus and related tools (such as i2cget, i2cset, i2cdump)

Little command line tool implementing a ring buffer which can be flushed by a signal. With a second signal the buffer can be discarded. I use it for preparing a recording from a dvb device so a record sart will catch also the last seconds before.
