ffdshow is an advanced DirectShow filter and Video for Windows codec (VFW) codec that supports many audio and video formats. For example: H.264, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, H.263, VP3, VP6, Theora, MJPEG, SVQ3, MP3, AC3, DTS, E-AC3, AAC, and Vorbis.

MMC is a commander-style media player for Windows, with native, hw accelerated video playing and translucent gui. Mpxplay is a console audio player for DOS and Win32 operating systems. x264vfw, x265vfw and xAV1vfw are video for windows encoder and decoder codecs, useful with VirtualDub.

Abstracts the hassle of HW accelerated decoding in Intel's 2nd generation Core i3/i5/i7/Pentium/Celeron (SandyBridge) or newer Intel CPU/GPU using the Intel QuickSync technology. Started as an internal decoder within FFDShow. Can be easily ported to other DirectShow decoders. The Intel QuickSync decoder is now used within FFDShow, LAV video decoder and PotPlayer.

lyra is a neural audio codec designed to deliver intelligible, natural-sounding speech at extremely low bitrates, making real-time communication viable on constrained networks. It replaces hand-engineered codecs with learned models that capture speech characteristics more efficiently and reconstruct waveforms with a neural vocoder. The system targets mobile-class hardware, balancing latency and quality so it can run in real-time on phones. Its architecture is resilient to packet loss and jitter through framing strategies and error concealment, helping conversations remain understandable under adverse conditions. The codebase includes encoder and decoder components, along with tools for data preparation and evaluation. By pushing bitrates down to just a few kilobits per second while retaining quality, lyra expands access to voice calls where bandwidth is scarce.

Video processing source code for algorithms and tools used in software media pipelines. The currently available source code is written in C++ with their associated libraries and DirectShow Filters. Filters include an H.264 encoder, H.264 decoder, H.264 source filter, RTSP sink and source filters, YUV source, RGB to YUV color conversion, croppers, scalers, video mixing/picture in picture filters, rotate filter, virtual mic, and many more. DEFINITELY LOSSLESS provides a solution to reliably transmit video data from one location to another. Context: Up until now, standardisation organisation such as the Video Quality Experts Group (VQEG) or the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) have used only uncompressed video formats. The H.264 standard and its implementation in FFMPEG allows for lossless transmission of video data at a smaller file size. Purpose: DEFINITELY LOSSLESS simplifies the manipulation of YUV422 video data embedded in AVI files with UYVY422 Four-CC code. It also checks for truncation and correct reconstruction of the uncompressed video at the receiving side. Disclaimer: Please note, that this project is for experts in video processing.
