Lume - Unique Hand-Crafted Sun and Moon Necklaces in Recycled Solid Gold | Rhodes Wedding Co.
Own a piece of Native American ceramic history with this redware seed bowl made by the renowned Hopi-Tewa artist, Garnet Pavatea (1915-1981.) Known for her technical skill and signature red clay slips, Pavatea was a highly respected and influential master potter, and is featured in many major museum collections. This low-profile bowl shows off her coral-red burnished finish and is decorated with traditional black geometric motifs. Signed "Garnet Pavatea" on the base. Condition This beautiful pot is in excellent vintage condition with a gorgeous glow from the polished surface. There are very light surface scuffs consistent with age, which add to its authentic character. No cracks or chips. Dimensions (Approximate) * Width: 7" * Height: 2.5"
Sycamore. All bowls are hand turned by Marc at Honey Locust studio. Most are made from local wood in Idaho and are each unique. Most food service bowls are "twice turn", meaning turned oversized, coated and allowed to dry for 3 or more months. Then they are mounted on the lathe, turned to finish size, sanded and finish applied. Food service bowls are finished in oils and waxes safe to humans. Sets are generally from the same log/tree. Some bowls with art work are painted with acrylic, then coated in a clear water base varnish.
