Radishes in Wysteria look more similar to what we would know as peaches. They're pink, and have a particular shape similar to a plush "heart" symbol. They taste different from the radishes we know; though the root's flesh is firm, they taste sweet.
They have natural healing properties when they are a regular part of one's diet. They prevent and combat a lot of health concerns, and add to a strong immune system. It's a highly valued crop in Wysteria, and used in many different recipes.
Radishes can even put an end to the spread of infections in the body, such as... STI's! How convenient, LOL!!! This is also why "radish man" is slang for a gay man in Wysteria. Some people even say that if you eat radishes raw, i.e. just bite into a radish as if it were an apple, you're signaling to others that you're... y'know.
It's said that some people have the ability to enhance the healing properties via magic, so that the radishes can show positive results immediately. There isn't any broadly accepted explanation as to how these people are capable of this. There are skeptics as well. (They just haven't met Romeo...)
Through their own research, or perhaps even just casual knowledge they overheard, some may have heard of a rumored connection between magically enhanced radishes, and ucubi.
