We're bringing the power of generative AI directly to your data with our new feature: Tell Me About My Data. Just click the magnifying glass on any chart, and our secure, in-built machine learning analyzes your data locally. Your detailed data never leaves your instance. It then sends only high-level summaries to your chosen LLM to generate plain-English narratives and suggest new charts, turning raw data into an actionable story in a single click.
Story Assistant
Your data stories just got smarter. We’ve integrated Tell Me About My Data directly into Yellowfin Stories, letting you weave AI-generated insights into your narratives with ease.
While building your story, just click the magnifying glass icon on any chart or report. The insights will pop up right in the builder, ready for you to review. See something you like? Click ‘Insert Into Story,’ and the AI-generated text and charts instantly become part of your narrative.
Automated Tomcat Upgrades
Manual security patching is a thing of the past. The Yellowfin 9.16 platform updater now includes an option to automatically upgrade your core Apache Tomcat component, eliminating a time-consuming manual task and ensuring your deployment stays current with critical security patches.
New Data Connectivity
As the modern data stack evolves, so does Yellowfin. We have now officially certified the high-performance ClickHouse and StarRocks databases as reporting sources, alongside adding more secure public/private key authentication for Snowflake.
Advanced Report Performance Control
Take report performance into your own hands. You can now push sorting operations directly to your database using an ORDER BY clause, a powerful option that can dramatically improve the efficiency of reports running on large datasets.
AI NLQ
We have further refined our natural language query capability with AI NLQ, a new toggleable mode within Yellowfin’s Guided NLQ feature that allows any user to type any question into the question bar without the need to follow syntax rules, or to know the names of the columns containing the data they need. Now, AI will automatically generate the correct Guided NLQ syntax, and deliver more accurate, best practice answers, the results of which can be quickly shared across Dashboards, Stories, and Presentations. Users can also click the Suggested Questions button to get a list of helpful prompts which, when selected, will auto-generate a properly structured data query on behalf of the user, and deliver them instant answers.
Enhanced REST API
The REST API library has been enhanced with new endpoints for report activities including report listing, sharing, favouriting, creating and displaying report comments, and report metadata. This provides developers a higher degree of control over embedded report activities in their applications.

The Fast PDF Exporter (Beta) is designed for maximum speed and memory efficiency and engineered to scale large tabular reports and multi-page presentations, allowing you to generate and distribute production-grade output quickly and efficiently.
