Asian restaurants are ten a penny between Couronnes and Parmentier métros, but keep your eyes peeled for 6036, a tiny, 14-seater, modern izakaya (Japanese bar serving drinks and snacks). It draws on both French and Japanese traditions, with wines by the glass and French cheeses sharing the menu with tofu. The dozen or so shareable plates on the menu (€5-€9) change often, but might include onigiri with salmon roe and beet confit, a fish tartare with radishes and kohlrabi or vegetable samosas with a sugary sauce. Hold out for dessert – we love the crême brûlée with matcha (powdered green tea tips), tea ice cream and sliced pear.
