Q1: What is AI Empowerment?

A: The CentralHub’s AI Empowerment feature empowers and enhances the AI detection capability of connected cameras by leveraging its powerful algorithms. This enables cameras to acquire certain AI capabilities they do not support (e.g., vehicle detection, person detection, and facial recognition). For cameras already equipped with AI capabilities, CentralHub can enhance their AI performance further.

Q2: What types of AI detection does the AI Empowerment feature support?

A: The CentralHub’s AI Empowerment feature currently supports a total of 4 types of AI detection, including detection of people, vehicles, pets, and faces.

Q3: How many cameras can be empowered by Tapo H500?

A: The CentralHub supports empowering up to 6 cameras.

Q4: How to bind a camera to the CentralHub for AI empowerment?

A: Binding is a straightforward process that involves just a few steps:

Set your camera to save its recordings to the CentralHub.

Here’s how: Go to your camera’s Device Settings > Storage & Recording & Local Storage > Storage Location > Hub Storage and designate the CentralHub as the storage location.

Display the Storage & Recording position in the app. Display the Local Storage position in the app.

Display the Storage Location position in the app. Display the Hub Storage and select hub position in the app.

Make sure your camera and the CentralHub are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Verify that your camera is online and its firmware is up to date.
Access the Status page of your CentralHub and navigate to AI Empowerment. Then tap Add Devices and select your camera. Binding is finished!

A: Access the Status page of your CentralHub and navigate to AI Empowerment. Then tap your AI-empowered camera. You can select the detection activities you want to empower.

Also, you can go to your camera’s Device Settings > Detection and manage the detection settings.
