How to connect and charge your PULSE Elite wireless headset

Find out how to connect your PULSE Elite™ wireless headsets with PlayStation®5 consoles.

How to connect your PULSE Elite wireless headset with your PS5 console

Connect your PULSE Elite wireless headset to your PS5® console using the included PlayStation Link™ USB adapter. The included USB adapter is paired to your headset out of the box. 

  1. Make sure that your PS5 console is on. 
  2. Insert the USB adapter into one of the USB Type-A ports on your console. 
  3. Press the PlayStation Link™ button on your headset to turn it on.

    When connected, the indicator on your headset turns solid blue and the indicator on the adapter turns solid white.

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up your headset.
  • If you’ve previously connected a PS Link device, the headset searches for it automatically if it’s nearby. While the headset searches, you can press the PS Link button again to cancel the search.
  • Your headset searches for a connection for 30 seconds. If it doesn’t find an available connection, the headset turns off. Press the PS Link button on your headset to search for a connection again.
  • You can control the volume from both your headset and your PS5 console. 
  • If there's another paired headset near your PS5 console that’s trying to connect, you may get an on-screen PS Link Device Nearby notification letting you know. Follow the on-screen instructions if you want to connect.

How to update the device software of your wireless headset and USB adapter

You can check the device software version of your wireless headset and USB adapter by going to Settings > Accessories > Headset > PS Link Device Software Update.

When there’s a new update available, follow the on-screen instructions.

How to charge your PULSE Elite wireless headset 

When you turn on or turn off your PULSE Elite wireless headset, the status indicator blinks to show the battery level. If the indicator blinks red, the battery level of your headset is low or empty. 
You can charge your headset from any compatible USB Type-A charging port using the included USB cable. 

  1. Make sure your device with the USB-A port is on, such as your PS5 console or PC/Mac®. 
  2. Connect your headset to the USB-A port using the included USB cable.
    The indicator on your headset slowly blinks orange while charging. 
  3. Wait for your headset to charge.
    You can use your headset while charging as long as you keep it connected to the USB device. 
    The indicator turns off when charging is complete. 
  • If you want to charge your headset while your console is in rest mode, you must activate this feature. 
  • When the battery of your headset is empty, fully charging it takes approximately 2.5 hours. If you want to use your headset sooner, let it charge for 10 minutes to use for 2 hours. 
  • Your headset has up to 30 hours battery life while playing audio and chatting on PS Link and Bluetooth connections (at 77°F/25°C).

You can also charge your headset on the PULSE Elite charging hanger. 

Battery level of your PULSE Elite wireless headset

The status indicator blinks in the following ways to indicate the battery level of your PULSE Elite wireless headset: 

Full
Green, 3 blinks

  • You can also check the battery level of your headset on your console by selecting Accessories in the control centre.
  • Your headset turns off after 30 minutes of inactivity.
    Inside the headset there’s a motion sensor. If the headset moves during the 30-minute period, the timer resets.
