crazy mom quilts: scrappy churn dash block tutorial--pint sized
This quilt is very colorful up beside the black. The fabric strips were pieced around a 4 inch black square with black sashing between the individual blocks. It measures 52" wide and 64" long which makes it a nice crib or lap size quilt. Once the top was sewn it is layered with a polyester batting and a backing of a commercial fabric. It was machine quilted using cotton thread first with a stitch in the ditch and then with a free motion meandering in the string part of the block. The binding is the same fabric as the backing and was machine sewn to the quilt and hand sewn to the back. Thank you for visiting Simply Scrappy Store.

Colorful vintage 1960's to 70's quilt sewn in a Bowtie or Necktie pattern. The fabrics are large and bold retro prints offset with white. The border is sewn of three wide lines of red print, solid black, and green print fabrics. The backing is white, matching the front, and the batting is of thin to medium density. This quilt is both machine and hand sewn and is hand quilted. There is a tiny dark blue stain on the back that may be ink (see close up photo). This is a beautiful vivid vintage quilt measuring 98" x 87" and is shown on a queen size bed. It has been gently laundered. Please contact me if you have questions and thanks for visiting my shop!
