Canes are commonly used as a way to help with walking- giving both stability and helping to offload some weight that’s going through a leg 🦵🏽 Canes can be a progression from a walker as it allows for more natural movement once less support is needed 🙌🏼 In order to progress away from a cane- you have to build the two things it helps with: 1️⃣ balance and stability especially in different directions 2️⃣ increasing the amount of weight you’re putting through your leg If you are currently using a cane, please make sure you have appropriate support from another person, are in the corner of a wall for support on both sides to ensure safety ⚠️ The goal is to complete 8-10 full repetitions on each side (forward, sideways, backwards = 1 repetition)
