Bent Wood Fish by Herm

This is a one of a kind handcrafted item. African Wenge wood and African Padauk Wood have been steam heated and bent into a slight curve. The two woods were glued together and then fashioned into a stylized fish shape. A polished copper eye and a polished copper back was then added. The cord is hand braided black leather. This is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted item. Padauk wood and Wenge Wood was laminated together and bent into a slight curve. With a jewelers saw, I cut the wood into a shape based on an arrowhead and archer fish and refined it with files and sandpaper. The cord is 44” (3mm dia.) gray braided leather. The tips are handmade from copper tubes and copper rod and tumbled in a rock polisher to give them a brushed look. Pendant dimensions: 2.3” x 1.3” x .6” Cord length: 44”
