Peeked in one of the doors of the barn (no entry allowed - too dangerous) and saw these hay boxes like we used to have in the barn so the cows wouldn't pull all the hay out onto the floor to get trampled on and wasted. We pitched the hay onto the backside of the slats and the cows could pull mouthfuls from between them. Nice steps leading up to the loft. We had to climb a ladder. Which was pretty scary to me at the time.
