Powerful Financial Analytics Platform

Sage Intacct proved to be a robust financial management solution that excelled at handling complex multi-entity reporting and provided the advanced analytics our growing business needed, though the higher costs and somewhat clunky interface were trade-offs we had to accept for its powerful functionality and reliable performance.

Sage review

Sage has some limitations one is closing a project but can still see it in a dashboard and some features we didn't have previously which is nice like federal invoicing.

Pros:

I like the online access so IT isn't having to help. There are some functions in invoicing that I didn't have before but there are also some negatives. Sage is basically easy to use. Processing AP payments is easy.

Cons:

Sage doesn't have some things and you can't just sync it to a database to get information out of it without another subscription so value for the money is not great. It seems like bugs come on just before an update is going to happen which seems weird. Customer support is ok but could always be better.

Customization of reports. Although there is out of the box reports on occasion, we need customized reports for Government Grant reporting.

My overall experience with Sage Intacct has been very positive. It is a robust, cloud-native financial management system that delivers strong core accounting, excellent reporting, and solid scalability for growing organizations. The dimensional accounting model and real-time dashboards significantly improved financial visibility and decision-making, while features like multi-entity consolidation and automation streamlined month-end close and reduced manual effort.

The real-time reporting and dimensional accounting stood out in particular, as they made it easy to slice financial data by department, project, or location without complex workarounds. Greatest system but it comes with a high price tag

I am enjoying Sage Intacct. I would recommend it for everyone who can afford this system. It's such a huge potential.

Cons:

Price tag is ridiculously high. Not sure if it's worth the value of the price tag especially for a school and church like us. AP bill automation could use an upgrade. Customer support needs more improvement as well. The annual conference is also expensive, not affordable for non profits.

What I like most about Sage Intacct is the ease of use and the cloud based program so that it can be access anywhere.

Cons:

The thing I like least about Sage Intacct is some of the limitations on customizing reports and the report writer is cumbersome.

Good start but a lot more needed

While we have a good standard Sage solution, with the guidance we needed or paid for, we made some bad implementation choices/settings. We now need more standard processes, people and controls to ensure that data is entered consistently across or 80 business units.

Sage Intacct is a capable accounting system with strong core functionality, but the user experience—especially around reporting—falls short of expectations.

Cons:

The software tends to overcomplicate simple tasks, which can slow down day-to-day work and create unnecessary friction for users who aren’t deeply familiar with the system. While it offers robust features, the learning curve and lack of intuitiveness make it less efficient than it could be.

We needed a system that tracked contracts and ARR. ARR tracking never worked and after a few years of using the contracts module we moved to another software.

Worst Implementation Ever, Cannot Recommend Intaact

The direct sales and implementation process by Sage was not well managed and resulted in a failed implementation where historical data and transactions were not brought from NetSuite to Sage.

The current account manager is pleasant and makes a strong effort to try and build the account and is helping some with implementation failures.

Cons:

Very poor implementation, worst of any implementation ever completed of an accounting or ERP system. Sage recommended implementation partner could not bring over GL from NetSuite and did nothing more than basic training. This resulted in a non-functioning system with significant problems that all are pushed to the customer to fix and pay for.

Cost of NetSuite and the advertising by Sage, which actual performance did not meet.
