Geauga and Portage Soil and Water Conservation districts are inviting educators to attend the Advanced Wonders of Watersheds workshop June 23-25 for learning adventures throughout the Lake Erie basin while lodging at Old Woman Creek in Huron.
This comprehensive three-day program will offer outdoor investigations, new resources, engaging activities, field explorations, optional graduate credit hours, and time to connect and rejuvenate, according to a news release.
Designed to deepen connections to the natural world, this workshop will provide an in-depth look at soil, climate, and waterways within the Lake Erie Basin and ways to effectively integrate these topics into the classroom.
Participants will receive a wide variety of curriculum resources including classroom-ready composting supplies, lessons, and a compost bin funded by Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste District’s Go Green Community Grant program, the release stated.
This program is open to educators of all grades and disciplines, but enrollment is limited so those interested are asked to register soon.
