We are delighted to announce that Deutsche Bank’s Project Finance team has closed a landmark project financing deal to construct a greenfield sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility in the Netherlands. Developed by SkyNRG, the Dutch biofuel SAF specialist, the DSL-01 facility in Delfzijl chemical park will be the first European facility dedicated solely to SAF production, paving the way for future opportunities in this growing sector. The project forms part of the company’s aim to establish SAF as the new global standard, supporting aviation’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Once fully operational, the plant will produce 97,500 tonnes of SAF annually, as well as 35,000 tonnes of sustainable biproducts. This latest deal is a reminder that funding is also a key enabler. Michael Volkermann, Global Head of Project Finance at Deutsche Bank, commented, “At Deutsche Bank, we’re financing the transition of the transport sector. HEFA* based SAF is the most scalable way to cut aviation emissions today – a true drop in fuel that delivers immediate climate impact.” Find out more via the link below: https://lnkd.in/dyV8b5Gn #projectfinance #sustainableaviationfuel #SAF *Hydrotreated esters and fatty acids Danai Koutra George Pullan Jasmin Nash, CFA Diane Vonk
