Federal Procurement is about to undergo a massive change. GSA recently issued a RFI "seeking input from a broad range of suppliers and industry associations regarding the creation of a new single, end-to-end integrated, and highly-efficient procurement ecosystem — that effectively incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) — to drive transparent collaboration and greatly enhance the federal acquisition lifecycle". After reading through the RFI (and chatting with GovEagle), here's what to expect from the new wave of AI-driven procurement: 1️⃣ AI-assistance for writing RFPs, SOWs, and other solicitations (similar to tools like AcqBot): "The AI now assists me in building the solicitation package. It starts with a core template aligned to the contract type and fills in content based on my previous inputs." 2️⃣ AI tooling to review submissions for compliance (Section L, M, and C): "It auto-generates an evaluation matrix using my predefined factors and populates key data points for side-by-side comparison. I assign evaluators, review feedback collaboratively, and document the decision-making process—all within the platform" 3️⃣ Identification of potential vendors via AI deep research: During market research, the AI becomes my assistant and research analyst. I can ask it to identify qualified vendors by searching government databases, vendor profiles, and past performance data.
