Zoom for Government has received authorization from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for Department of Defense (DoD) IL4 NIPRNet and internet-facing communications 👉 https://zm.me/41P0yPq This continues our previous DISA authority and Air Force Authority to Operate but now adds IL4 collaboration directly behind the DoD Boundary Connection Access Point or BCAP. It is obvious that teams that nail these will consistently outperform, but you can't answer them without real capture. So how do you invest in capture when cancellations are at an all-time high? The answer: Agile Capture We're piloting this with our users, built on three principles: 1) Cast a wider net with sharper focus. Track opportunities 6-9 months out instead of 3-6. The old 10:1 review-to-submit ratio? Now it's 20:1. Build a pipeline that can absorb cancellations. 2) Use AI intelligently for early research. 🔍 I just finished "The Technological Republic" by Dr. Karp and as a former USN/USCG contracting officer, I’ve seen firsthand how hard it is to get the right tech to the mission fast enough and how painful the gap is between innovation and implementation in government tech acquisition. The book covers a vast array of fascinating topics but I’ll focus on the federal acquisition process and my takeaways: ✅ We need tech builders and public servants working as partners, not adversaries ✅ Red tape must give way to trust-based collaboration between end users and industry ✅ Commercial acquisitions and a dual-use marketplace should be embedded in the requirements process vs. an afterthought in the path to exquisite development ✅ Speed matters when national security and warfighters lives are on the line ✅ Critical thinking, an engineering mindset, and an emphasis on ethics will continue to be critical in the future with rapidly developing technologies The stakes couldn't be higher in 2025. From the shipyard and factory to the software stacks enabling critical missions, we need acquisition systems that can keep pace with both threats and opportunities. While TALK of major acquisition reform is more rampant today than it has been in years, and even with top level support, is the system evolving fast enough to meet tomorrow’s challenges?
