“I had the pleasure of working with Alex while we were both at Persefoni, and from the start, it was clear that he was an incredibly sharp and capable engineer. Alex held a Senior Software Engineer role and absolutely lived up to it—consistently delivering high-quality solutions at impressive speed. What stood out most to me was not just his technical skill, but his clarity in communication. Whether it was breaking down complex ideas, being receptive to feedback, collaborating across teams, or giving thoughtful feedback, Alex made working together seamless and productive. He's quick on his feet, asks the right questions, and has a strong sense of ownership over his work. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Alex again and highly recommend him to any team looking for a sharp, reliable, and communicative engineer.”

Fire Alarm
An application that integrates with the Twitter streaming API to append geolocated tweets to a Google Map. We currently have the app configured to tag and append tweets that mention specific "disaster" keywords to create an early warning system that potentially disseminates faster than news agencies' and/or government backed alerts. We used Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, Mongoose.js, Foundation, Google Maps and jQuery.

Seattle Greenway Monitoring
See projectI made the web interface for a foot traffic monitoring project that was made at this year's Seattle Hack For Change event. The web interface uses the Xively API to gather count data that is broadcasted by WiFi enabled Arduinos and appends circle markers to a map rendered using Leaflet.js and Open Street Map.
