TODO (OSPO) Group partners with the Linux Foundation Research on the latest study that explores the ROI of open source contributions 🙌
Today, the The Linux Foundation released a new research report, ROI for Open Source Software Contribution: Insight from the Open Source ROI Survey and Economic Model. Based on insights from more than 500 IT leaders, organizations that actively contribute report 2 to 5 times return on investment. Passive consumption, meanwhile, correlates with higher technical debt and hidden maintenance costs. LF Decentralized Trust is proud to sponsor this report alongside CD Foundation, Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), FINOS, Intel Corporation, LF Networking, Mercedes-Benz AG, OpenInfra Foundation, OpenSSF, TODO Group, Toyota Motor Corporation, and survey distribution partner ISG (Information Services Group). The findings are directionally compelling. But ROI in open source is not automatic. It depends on how organizations engage, where they invest upstream, and whether participation aligns with long term product and governance strategy. The infrastructure for a digital first economy must be resilient, secure, and capable of evolving alongside markets and regulation. Open development and open governance remain the most durable way to achieve that alignment. 🔗 Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/eNZgAJ9v

The fall conference season is approaching and events are looking for speakers. As an OSPO, getting talks from your team accepted at important conferences doesn’t always just happen. By getting organized and taking a strategic approach to conferences, your OSPO can get your employees speaking at the conferences with the biggest benefit, both for those individuals and for the organization as a whole. Here's a blog post with some tips based on what I've done in the past to help get the right employees speaking at conferences. https://lnkd.in/eqehcmnd
