Nitin Joseph, one of Account Executives and the folks at FreshIdeas.ai got together to talk shop about the current and future state of professional services, and how AI needs to be embedded within existing workflows to create a truly elevated software delivery experience. Budgeting season is here. Many service delivery orgs are being asked to do more with less, while still improving delivery performance.

The FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) function is all the rage these days. Outside of a select few folks (many from Palantir), not many even understand the nuances of this role or just how it functions in the context of AI-native companies. So we figured we'd round up a bunch of FDEs in the Bay Area to solidify our understanding of what makes an FDE, how to spot effective candidates, and how to seed an FDE function. We had Sebastian from Intercom, Estelle from Lorikeet, and Kevin from Rippling (all of whom are Forward Deployed operatives) join us last week to give us the lowdown on what FDEs are all about. There were far too many learnings to list out here, and we'd rather have you hear it straight from the horse's mouth, i.e. the FDEs in the Frontline Forum.
