Kiitos, Helsinki! MeasureCamp Helsinki wrapped up over the weekend. It’s one of the few events where you don’t just listen – you compare perspectives with people facing the same challenges across analytics, privacy and data infrastructure. During the event, Piotr Słonina hosted a session on expectation management in analytics work. When teams operate across tracking, consent, compliance and engineering, misaligned expectations quickly turn into delays, rework and frustration. The root cause of it is not lack of expertise, but missing the basics. A few practical ideas discussed during the session included: • Setting clear ownership early – especially across teams • Making assumptions explicit before work starts • Replacing one-off fixes with simple, repeatable systems. Applying it consistently makes a measurable difference. 📊 Thanks to everyone who joined the session and shared their perspective. Till the next one! 👋

When analytics becomes part of the application, new possibilities emerge. Our wonderful partner CodeArt DK explored what this looks like in practice and built a Piwik PRO .NET SDK. The SDK brings analytics closer to developers by: • Enabling event tracking directly from .NET applications • Allowing analytics queries with familiar LINQ-style syntax • Making it easier to build dashboards and data-driven features outside of the Piwik PRO platform This approach reflects a broader shift. Analytics is no longer separate from product development. It’s becoming an integral part of how modern applications operate, especially in privacy-focused environments. 🔏 Big thank you to Allan Thraen and the CodeArt team for driving this initiative forward. 📑 If you’re working with .NET and want to see how privacy-first analytics can fit into your architecture, the full overview by CodeArt is worth a read: https://lnkd.in/gGd4Yr75 Announcing Piwik PRO .NET SDK 💡 You can find the NuGet package with the SDK here: https://lnkd.in/gSuH34Xr

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗲𝘀? Stricter privacy expectations and stronger cookie banners mean many organizations are losing visibility into how their websites perform. In some cases, up to 50% of users reject cookies. An article by Rafał Piszczatowski at Bettersteps, highlights an alternative - collecting anonymous data without cookies or session identifiers. In the test, the same event was tracked in both Piwik PRO and GA4. As a result, 𝗣𝗶𝘄𝗶𝗸 𝗣𝗥𝗢 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟰𝟰% 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 events in the same period. Why the difference? When users decline cookies, many platforms often rely on modeled data. If the traffic volume is too small, many interactions never appear in standard reports. With Piwik PRO, organizations can collect anonymous event-level data, each interaction recorded as a separate signal, without identifying the user. Piwik PRO offers something many teams need today: reliable measurement based on real interactions, even without cookie consent. Sometimes, measuring events, not users, is the right place to start. Most analytics teams still follow one assumption: collect as much data as possible. But what if that approach is hurting both the quality of analytics and privacy compliance? 📊 In a session at Piwik PRO Day 2025, Conductrics INC CEO Matt Gershoff challenged the “just in case” data mindset. His argument is simple: organizations should focus on collecting just enough data, not more. Why? 💡 Because excessive data often creates more problems than value: • Higher compliance risk under regulations. • More analytical noise and harder decision-making. • Systems that are difficult to audit and maintain. Privacy by Design offers a different path. Instead of collecting everything and then asking questions later, it encourages teams to start with minimal, non-identifiable data and increase granularity only when there’s a clear reason. In practice, this often means using privacy-preserving techniques that reduce identifiability while keeping analytical value. Techniques such as data binning or K-anonymity demonstrate that organizations can protect user privacy while still conducting reliable analyses. 🗞️ Discover how “just enough” data beats “just in case” collection: https://lnkd.in/dDV666xj

Is your commerce data giving you clarity - or confusion? 🤔 Let’s talk about it at one of the most important commerce gatherings in the Nordics. On March 4–5, Didrik Brekke Hansen, Nicolai Munch Andersen and Mariya Khanina will be at D-Congress in Gothenburg together with our partner Invertus. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟯𝟬–𝟲𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 and growing legal pressure across the EU, many commerce brands are optimizing based on partial truth. The result? Misattributed revenue, undervalued channels and decisions made on incomplete data. 💡 It doesn’t have to be that way. If you’re attending D-Congress and want to understand what truly drives revenue, without black boxes, sampling or legal pushback, let’s connect in Gothenburg. Didrik, Nicolai and Mariya will be there to guide you through it. See you next week! 👋
