🚨 Artificial intelligence is moving fast. Governance and risk maturity are not. Today, SANS Institute and siberX announce NOW // AI — a new immersive simulation built to help leaders manage AI risk, strengthen security controls, and defend enterprise value. As AI becomes embedded in enterprise systems, boards are asking harder questions: • Are our AI systems protected? • Are controls tested and defensible? • Is AI adoption aligned with enterprise risk strategy? NOW // AI is built on the SANS AI Blueprint and focuses on three operational pillars: Protect AI Utilize AI Govern AI Through structured simulations led by SANS Certified Instructors, participants evaluate AI risk, test response coordination, and apply governance principles under realistic conditions. The result: measurable improvements in AI oversight, security posture, and risk informed decision making. 📍 Inaugural event: May 27, 2026 📍 Toronto, Canada Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/eDRf7Epa

For years, it stood quietly at CISO Forum Canada. Not as a centerpiece. Not announced from the stage. Just present. Steady, intentional, a symbol of something bigger than any one event, speaker, or moment. The siberX Cup was created to honour legacy. In Canada, we understand what it means to engrave a name into history. We grow up watching the Stanley Cup lifted with pride, knowing it represents years of discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, and resilience. Not hype. Not noise. Work. The Stanley Cup doesn't celebrate moments, it preserves history. Cybersecurity deserves that same recognition. Each year, the siberX Cup carries the names of leaders who have advanced this industry through hard decisions, quiet resolve, and an unwavering commitment to protecting people, systems, and trust. These are not accolades for noise or visibility. They are honours earned through consistency, integrity, and responsibility. For eight years, the Cup has stood alongside our community, behind keynotes, beneath stage lights, present for conversations that shaped the future of cybersecurity in Canada. This year, we chose to honour that legacy openly. Because hard work deserves recognition. Because leadership should be remembered. And because Canadian cybersecurity has earned its place in history. To every leader whose name is etched into the siberX Cup, and to those who will join it in the years ahead, this is a legacy built with pride. #CISOForumCanada #WeAreCyber

This is what it looked like inside CISO Forum Canada Rooms full of leaders carrying the weight of cybersecurity, showing up, speaking candidly, and leaning into the hard stuff together. Built by the Canadian cyber community, for the Canadian cyber community, with a distinctly Canadian thread woven throughout. From the Made-in-Canada conference pins to maple fudge at coffee break, the details mattered because the people and the country we’re protecting matter. Real conversations. Sharp perspectives. The kind of moments that refill your cup and remind you why this community matters. Hallway chats that ran long. Questions that refused to stay surface-level. Connections that clicked instantly. If you were there, you felt it. If you weren’t… this is the part everyone talks about after. Want to secure your spot for 2027? www.siberx.org #WeAreCyber #Leadership #Community

Thank you. To every person who walked the floor at CISO Forum Canada, attendees, sponsors, advisors, speakers, partners, thank you for your energy, your excitement, your conversations, your presence. Thank you for showing up not just to attend, but to contribute. To share. To challenge. To listen. To build something together. You don’t leave this room the same way you entered it. None of us do. Every handshake, every hard conversation, every moment of insight leaves a mark. On our thinking. On our work. On our community. And that’s why we ask you to come up and sign the stage. Not as a formality, but as a reflection. A reminder that you were here, that you stood in this room with people who care deeply about protecting, leading, and shaping what comes next. That you left your name where your impact lives, in this community. We took the stage down when the day ended, but the marks will stay with us. In the way we lead differently. Collaborate more openly. Act more boldly. And carry each other forward long after the lights go out. Thank you for leaving your mark on our stage, and on us. #WeAreCyber #Gratitude #Community #CISOForumCanada

The number one question I was asked yesterday was: Why did you create siberX? It wasn’t built as a company. It was built as a response. A response to silence. To fragmentation. To the idea that security is always someone else’s job. We are a vast nation, stretching over 5,500 kilometres from coast to coast. Different regions. Different cultures. Different lived realities. Yet what connects us is far greater than what separates us. The day after #CISOForumCanada and #CyberMeetUp, I’m sitting with that feeling. Two very different formats. One shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who showed up, leaders, practitioners, partners, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, advisors, and members of this community. You didn’t just attend. You contributed. As I reflect today, one truth stands out above all else: What we protect defines who we are. Often quietly. Often without recognition. Often before anyone knows it mattered. This video captures more than moments. It captures intent. What we do here doesn’t end when the room empties. It carries forward. And for that, I’m grateful. Thank you for being part of it. #WeAreCyber

Our final round of breakout sessions have just concluded to close the formal portion of #CISOForum2026! - In our final group panel of the day, "Supply Chain Extinction: Focus on existential third-party risk," Amy Feldman (Black) of RSM US LLP, Gaétan Houle of Fortinet, Kopiha Nathan of Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC) and Nabil Zia. Mian of Roots examined the cascading risks from simultaneous third-party breaches, focusing on board oversight, supply chain resilience, contractual liability, and contingency planning. - In "AI Fighting AI: Defending in a world of autonomous adversaries," hosts Michael F. and Mohammad Waqas of Armis discussed how autonomous attacker AI is evolving and what CISOs can do to counter it. - Roland Kahl of OpenText talked about optimizing and securing AI data pipelines and mastering the data discovery lifecycle. - In "Gen AI hijacking is the new ransomware," Matthew Balcer of SentinelOne explored how Gen AI hijacking is emerging as the next evolutionary step in cybercrime. Matthew examined real-world attack patterns including prompt injection, model poisoning, data leakage via inference, and AI-driven social engineering — demonstrating how these techniques can cause operational paralysis and financial impact comparable to, or greater than, traditional ransomware campaigns. With all sessions now concluded, join us in the main ballroom for the awards ceremony! #CISOForum #siberX #Cybersecurity #WeAreCyber
