Our care for the St. Louis Cardinals takes a whole team that goes beyond our incredible sports medicine physicians. Shout-out to everyone representing Mercy at Spring Training this year, including our eye care team, lab team and clinic staff who keep everything running smoothly. Go Cards!

“Mercy’s adoption of agentic AI is improving the lives of our patients and caregivers.” Byron Yount, PhD, Mercy’s chief data and AI officer, spoke on Healthleaders' panel about agentic AI in health care, sharing his vision for our people-first approach to AI. For patients, this means more availability and easier scheduling, as well as more personal exchanges with their doctors and a straighter line to necessary care. For our providers and clinicians, this means more face-to-face time with their patients and less time staring at a computer screen, along with reduced burnout and a better work/life balance. On average, clinicians are able to see one extra patient per day and have cut down charting time by as much as 77%.

As we begin the season of Lent, our communities gathered across all our locations today to mark Ash Wednesday with prayer, fasting and a commitment to share with those in need. May this season be one of renewal, compassion and deeper connection for us all.

If you listen closely in the service center, you’ll hear Luke walking someone through a problem with calm confidence. He supports our co-workers when technology slows them down and helps caregivers stay focused on their patients. Luke’s teamwork keeps care running smoothly for everyone who depends on him. #FacesofMercy

"Gabby and Jenna in the Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit went out of their way by decorating my mom’s room. My mom was feeling a little down due to the fact she’s been in the ICU for almost 4 weeks. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Jenna and Gabby went to work and decorated her room with some different color heart ropes. This really stood out as going above and beyond in a difficult time. They made my mom smile, and she didn’t just like the hearts they made, she loved them. Thank you, ladies for going the extra mile and making sure that my mom was able to put a smile on her face." Gina Nardoni’s son is appreciative of all the care #MercySouthSTL has provided his mother, but this simple act of kindness inspired him so much, he reached out to share their story. Gabby Gallois and Jenna Powers worked together to raise the spirits of a patient they knew needed it. “We saw a TikTok on making these heart ropes,” Gabby said. “We told each other, we have that paper – and Gina would love to have these in her room! We loved seeing how happy it made her.” Pictured left to right are CMICU nurse Jenna Powers, Gabby Gallois and Alicia Orris with patient Gina Nardoni and the heart rope Valentine’s decorations in Gina’s room.
