With ongoing partnership deals between Reddit and Google, your brand’s presence in these communities is now a pillar of your AI search strategy. If your brand isn't surfaced, you risk being left out of the customer journey. In this week's Whiteboard Friday, Victory Umurhurhu explains the three modes of engagement to help you thrive on: 🔷 Insight gathering: Build a list of 10 to 20 subreddits across your industry, adjacent niche, and competitors. 🔷 Contextual contribution: Provide value within existing threads to build credibility before you ever mention your own products. 🔷 Conversation catalyst: Lead the discussion using open-ended questions, Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions, and data-backed hooks. Stop guessing what your audience wants and start participating where they actually talk. Read the full breakdown on the Moz Blog: https://mz.cm/4c1xoAB

Domain Authority still matters....maybe more than ever. Seer Interactive's GEO study found it was the strongest predictor of AI visibility across industries, a signal built on link quality, diversity, and trust. Not content volume. Not ads. Not social buzz. The tried & true metric that SEOs have been relying on for years --> that good ol' DA from Moz. The brands trusted on the web are the ones showing up in AI. Lots of people have been writing about citations lately, so much so that they've become an unintended theme to this week's Moz Top 10. It's a good thing too, as this is one of the most misunderstood topics in AI SEO right now. It's easy for SEOs to fall into the habit of thinking of citations like Google results - as the goal and value driver - but this couldn't be further from the truth. Citations play a behind the scenes role, but they should never be your KPI. Full links to the articles and this and past editions of the Moz Top 10 in the comments below. #1: The Influence of Retrieval, Fan-out, and Google SERPs on ChatGPT Citations - Oshen Davidson - Citations are the biggest clue we have into what influences (in this case) ChatGPT responses. This study shows that over a quarter of citations go to high-DA sites - a very similar ratio to Google SERPs. #2: How Google Click Signals Drive SEO Rankings and AI Answers - Cyrus S. - Let's not forget where most citations found in ChatGPT, Gemini, & AI Mode come from. It's the same old Google results, and that means we still care a great deal about click signals. #3: LLM Ghost Citations: Why Your Content Is Working and Your Brand Isn't - John Lovett - That said, a lot of citations actually come from... nowhere at all? They don't even exist. This study looks into the plague of "ghost citations", casting doubt on the usefulness and relevance of the URLs ChatGPT shows us. #4: ChatGPT Links in Google Search Console: How to Discover Real User Conversations That Cite Your Content - Glenn Gabe - These are real conversations that show how and when your site is cited, helping you to spot gaps in the information available around your brand. #5: What Is Prompt Tracking? - Crystal Carter - But wait, if citations aren't the right KPI, what is? This is a great introduction to prompt tracking, and how and why to get started for any business, however small. #6: 4 Prompt Tracking Mistakes - Me :) - To conclude our section on citations - here's what not to do, and why, and how really to think about the value (or not!) of being cited. #7: The Top 5 SERP Features of 2026 and How To Appear in Them - STAT Search Analytics - After the dust of 2025 settled, which SERP features have come out on top in 2026? The STAT team analyzed 200,000 SERPs over three years to find out. #8: JavaScript SEO in the Age of AI - Will Kennard Jo Furnival - The addition of various AI bots to the web crawling ecosystem is making the already murky world of JavaScript SEO only murkier. Dive into the nuance in this expanded Q&A format. #9: If Your Local Rankings Are Off, Your Map Pin May Be the Reason - Claudia Tomina - Think the Google Maps pin goes to your business address? The reality is far more nuanced. #10: What are Relationships in Google Business Profile? - Joy Hawkins - Relatedly, businesses can have a location that goes beyond a physical position. What if they're inside another business, or part of the same company?

This week, Tom Capper talks through the 4 biggest mistakes people make when tracking AI prompts: 1️⃣ Focusing on citations instead of mentions. 2️⃣ Thinking only in terms of traditional rankings. 3️⃣ Not tracking enough prompts 4️⃣ Sticking only to "head" terms. Do you agree? What are your biggest mistakes, and how did you fix them?

It’s getting harder to earn online visibility. Generative search features answer more questions directly on the results page, often resulting in fewer clicks on your site. To stay visible, your brand must become a preferred source for these new engines. Join Beth Nunnington and Paul Aaron Norris from Journey Further for a live webinar on building the authority signals that large language models (LLMs) prioritize. You will learn: - How to build signals that AI search finds favorable. - Strategies to influence citations in generative answers. - Practical ways to strengthen authority across answer engines. If you want to increase your brand visibility in generative search engines, this webinar is for you!

Tracking your #AI prompts? Let’s make sure the math is mathing 🤓 There is a lot of noise right now about prompt tracking and how to squeeze real value out of it. But let's be real, sometimes it comes down to the prompts themselves. Tracking AI performance isn’t just about having data; it’s about prompts that give you *actionable* data so you can actually do something with it. Here's my top 3 tips for prompt tracking efficiency: 1️⃣ Evict the False Positives: If a prompt is giving you "success" signals that don't translate to brand visibility, it’s just clutter. Get it out of your reports. 2️⃣ Sync Your Tools and Your Timeframes: Make sure your prompts actually align with what your tools are capable of measuring, and that the tracking duration matches the task. Don't track a marathon like it's a sprint. 3️⃣ The "Action" Litmus Test: This is the golden rule. If you aren’t going to change your strategy based on a metric, don’t track it. We don't need more "vanity metrics"; we need insights that move the needle. I’ve broken down the full "how-to" on prompt tracking over in my webinar with chima mmeje🏳️🌈 and now my latest piece on the Moz blog. Check it out and let's get those dashboards working for us, not against us. Read the full guide here: https://lnkd.in/edYeQtu4
