🏠 Announcing a home game this week! We're helping make tram operations safer across the world - and now also in our own city: OTIV is coming to Stad Gent. De Lijn is expanding the ADAS tram project to Ghent, after successful validation of the technology in Antwerp and the Belgian Coast. Tram drivers operate in one of the most demanding environments in public transport: dense city traffic, cyclists, pedestrians, unpredictable intersections. The goal is simple: help the drivers detect risks faster and avoid collisions. We're proud to be the technology behind it. Article in first comment 👇

Automating the backbone of society today.
About us
OTIV develops assistance, remote control, and autonomous technology for rail, improving safety, increasing efficiency, and contributing to the modal shift. Our solutions enable industrial players, rail operators, and infrastructure managers to transition from manual handling to assisted, remote-controlled, or fully autonomous rail operations. We collaborate with major industry players such as CAF, DB Cargo, ArcelorMittal, Green Cargo, ProRail, and SNCF to address critical socio-economic challenges, including incident costs, labor shortages, and the environmental impact of transportation.

This is what the future of European rail freight looks like 🚅 Together with our project partner DB Cargo we launched railautomation.eu, dedicated to the ATO Cargo Betuweroute project: the only initiative in Europe running trial operations for fully automated and remotely operated freight trains on a live mainline network. OTIV is proud to be part of the consortium making it happen — alongside DB Cargo, ProRail, German Aerospace Center (DLR), Hitachi Rail, and REMOOT (Mobility42, Rail Systems Engineering). Our remote operation center and obstacle detection technology are key building blocks of a safer, smarter, more efficient rail network. Trial operations start in 2026. The groundwork is laid. The partners are aligned. The technology is ready 🚀 Link in first comment 👇

Safer shunting doesn't happen through technology alone. It takes the right regulatory framework, the right training, and a real commitment to the operators doing the work on the ground. That's why we're proud to announce TEX Rail Training België as the first OTIV.ONE certified training partner 🎓 TEX Rail Training België, as part of the European TEX Holding, brings deep rail and training expertise. OTIV brings the technology. Together, we're setting a new standard for shunting safety and efficiency - in Belgium and across Europe. Looking forward to onboarding our first cohort together, Kristof Oeyen! 🚂 Article in first link (in Dutch) 👇

Last week, we had the pleasure of joining the Belgian Rail Freight Association for their monthly meet-up. Our co-founder Sam shared how we are taking the steps towards RTO and ATO with rail operators across Europe and the US. Hard to beat the setting: the Tractiewerkplaats NMBS-SNCB in Antwerp. Couldn't be more on-brand 🚂 Thanks for the great conversations with DB Cargo Belgium, RTB CARGO BELGIUM N.V., Lineas, Railtraxx NV, BLS Cargo, TCA RAIL, Certus Rail Solutions, CFL cargo, TEX Rail Training België. The freight rail operators in Belgium are asking the right questions. More to come!

Today we're announcing the launch of TRACE - together with our partners De Lijn (Ghent), Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (Karlsruhe), RET (Rotterdam) and EIT Urban Mobility. 🚊 Trams can't swerve. They operate on fixed tracks with long braking distances in complex urban traffic - yet most ADAS technology is built for cars and buses, not rail. Every year, thousands of tram accidents happen across European cities. 🚨 TRACE changes that. It validates the next generation of OTIV.TWO: a rail-first, modular ADAS with industry-leading capabilities including: 🔷 Advanced side- & predictive collision avoidance 🔷 Digital mapping with overspeed protection 🔷 A retrofittable platform scalable from assistance to autonomous operations The objectives are clear: fewer collisions and fewer network disruptions, leading to safe, clean and flexible urban mobility. Let's act together!

🌏🇰🇷 38.8 km. 45 stops. 34 hydrogen trams. And OTIV.TWO on board, giving every driver an extra set of eyes in the complex urban environments of a city with 1.5M inhabitants. We're proud to announce that Hyundai Rotem has selected OTIV.TWO as the Advanced Driver Assistance System for Daejeon's new Line 2 — South Korea's first hydrogen-powered tram line. This is a milestone for us: our first deployment in Asia. Daejeon Line 2 is a bold bet on two things we believe in deeply: rail as the backbone of sustainable urban mobility, and intelligent technology as the enabler to make that vision safe and reliable from day one.

We're deploying safe systems across Europe 🚨🚊 Safety is not just a principle, it requires deep real-world testing beyond the standard technical validation and certification. How does the OTIV Advanced Driver Assistance System (OTIV.TWO) impact the tram driver and the safety of urban rail operations? Last week our partner Los Tranvías de Zaragoza demonstrated the joint research project with UCL led by Jan Luca Kästle. "Safety is a fundamental topic, both for the city council and for society", emphasized CEO Ana M. Moreno Lorente. We're excited to bring safety to the city streets across the world! 🌍 Thanks to our partners for this collaboration EIT Urban Mobility, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UCL, Carris, De Lijn, CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) and CARNET. A revolution starts one locomotive at a time - and one selfie at a time 🤳 With DB Cargo and our partners we taking the bold step towards supervised autonomous train operation. Our co-founder Niels Van Damme was there to inspect the vehicle, and saw much more than a locomotive: it is the OTIV vision coming to life. Supervised autonomy is the future of rail. Big ups to all partners involved - Mobility42, Rail Systems Engineering, Hitachi Rail, ProRail! Stay tuned for epic drone shots of self-driving locomotives 🚂

🎄 Heading into the end-of-year holidays the safe way – with RET! 🚋 Last week, OTIV was in Rotterdam for a hands-on training session with RET tram drivers, helping them get acquainted with their new Driver Assistance System for Trams. Between winter lights and holiday schedules, safety stays top of mind. It was great to see drivers engaging with the technology, asking questions, and preparing to head into the festive season with extra confidence on the tracks. Here’s to smarter mobility, safer journeys, and a smooth ride into the holidays. Happy (and safe) travels to you all! 🎅✨ #ADAS #tramways #Rotterdam #Safety
