  • Why does cybersecurity still fail in real organisations? At Luminari Conference 2026 in Tokyo, this question framed a focused and practical discussion across security, venture capital, and academia. The OpenSSL Corporation was represented onsite by Technical Advisory Committee members Aditya Koranga and Paul Yang, with Business Advisory Committee member James Bourne joining online. Their sessions on Post Quantum Cryptography and Confidential Computing were well received and sparked active discussion around PQC readiness, crypto agility, and the role of the OpenSSL Library in enabling quantum resiliency. The feedback was clear. There is a strong interest in practical implementation, not just policy-level conversation. Organisations are actively assessing their readiness for the quantum transition. For us, this was a strong step in expanding engagement in Asia and a reminder that in-person technical dialogue still matters. Is your organisation operationally ready for the post quantum shift? #LuminariConference #Cybersecurity #OpenSSLCorporation #TechEvents #Tokyo2026 #OpenSSLLibrary

  • Great few days at our face-to-face gathering and the OpenSSL Projects meeting in Australia! Two packed days of presentations and discussions from the history of the OpenSSL Library to insights from David Hook (Bouncy Castle) and Peter Gutmann (cryptlib) plus valuable time bonding with projects and strengthening collaboration across our community. After the deep dives, we wrapped up with a relaxing day outdoors: horse riding and hands-on time with various machines. Strong collaboration. Strong community. #OpenSSLLibrary #OpenSource #Security #OpenSSLCorporation #f2f #OpenSSLProjects #gettingtogether

  • Installfest 2026 is just one month away. Dmitry Misharov from the OpenSSL Corporation will present: OpenSSL Library Meets PKCS#11: Working with Hardware Backed Keys OpenSSL Library is everywhere - but when private keys must be protected by hardware, traditional file-based workflows break down. This is where PKCS#11 and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) enter the picture. This talk introduces PKCS#11 as the standard API for accessing cryptographic objects without exposing key material. We briefly cover what HSMs are, why they are used in production environments, and how they differ from software key stores. And finally we combine all pieces together showing how OpenSSL delegates cryptographic operations to HSMs via PKCS#11. 📅 March 28 to 29, 2026 📍 ČVUT Karlovo náměstí, Prague We look forward to meeting the open-source community in Prague. #OpenSSLCorporation #OpenSSLLibrary #PKCS11 #HSM #Installfest #OpenSource
