About us

JYSK is an international home furnishing retailer with Scandinavian roots that makes it easy to furnish every room in any home and garden. JYSK delivers a great Scandinavian offer for everyone within sleeping and living. We are a global retail chain of stores and web shops, and part of the family-owned Lars Larsen Group. Our founder, Lars Larsen, opened his first JYSK store in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1979. Today, JYSK has more than 3,500 stores in 50 countries around the world. 29 countries are operated directly by JYSK, while the remaining 21 countries are part of JYSK Franchise. With thousands of stores across the world, there is often a JYSK nearby. This makes it quick to explore our assortment, and easy to bring products home. Online, we have room for even more products, and it is crucial for us to make it easy for customers to combine our great store service with our wide online assortment to give the best possible shopping experience. This requires great employees, and our ambition is to be employees’ first choice within retail wherever JYSK is present. This means that JYSK must always be an attractive place to work, and that our employees enjoy the time they spend with us. Although JYSK today is a global business, the company is managed based on its Scandinavian roots. This is reflected in our company culture and the way we do business. JYSK MISSION 🔹 A great Scandinavian offer for everyone within sleeping and living JYSK VISION 🔹 To be customers' first choice 🔹 To be employees' first choice within retail 🔹 To be the world’s most widespread and profitable chain of stores

Stronger logistics in Italy to support growth 📦 We’re excited to share our plans to open a brand-new distribution centre in Italy by the end of 2027. This strategic move will enhance our ability to deliver faster and more efficiently to stores and online customers across Italy. As the first step, we’ll rent a 50,000–60,000 m² warehouse in northern Italy – similar to our current setup in Spain – while construction of the permanent distribution centre gets underway 🏗️ 🗨️“We expect our growth across Europe to continue, and by strengthening our combined logistics setup, we will distribute the workload better between our distribution centres. In addition, the move will have a reduction in CO2 emissions, as products will be transported fewer kilometres than from our current distribution centre in southern Germany to stores across Italy,” says Ole Thomsen, Executive Vice President Logistics at JYSK. 👉The new centre will become JYSK’s 11th distribution centre in Europe, joining projects already in progress in the Netherlands and Spain. With 109 stores in Italy and continued expansion ahead, this is a big milestone for our logistics team and our ambition to be customers’ first choice 🥇 #Expansion #Logistics

New record-low customer claim rates 💙 💪 Our strong and consistent focus on product quality has led to record-low customer claim rates across all our product categories. In the most recent financial year, our claim rate dropped to just 0.15% of all products sold. 🚀 This means that we have more than halved our claim rate since FY15. “We are very proud of our results in continuing to improve the quality of our products. The fact that we have managed to reduce our customer claims continuously every year over the past 10 years means that we have succeeded in what we set out to do: ensuring great quality and great offers. Our targeted efforts are working, and we can see from our increasing sales and very few customer claims that customers have noticed this too,” says Compliance & Quality Director at JYSK, Lars Ringtved Nielsen. Behind these numbers lies a thorough process: ✅ closer collaboration with suppliers ✅ multiple quality inspections ✅ international certifications ✅ continuous improvements based on customer insights 🛏️ A customer claim is registered when a customer receives a replacement product, receives a refund, or is granted a price reduction when returning a defective product.

As we kick off the new spring/summer season (SS2026), shelves and displays at stores will be stocked with a new and fresh assortment of Scandinavian sleeping and living. Already from January, you can experience the new arrivals which are inspired by two new design directions for 2026. 🗨️“We want to inspire our customers with a wide range of products that fit the needs of different generations. This season, we are working with two new design directions called Raw Beauty and Renewing. Both tell the story of how you can renew and reshape your space, drawing inspiration from the earth, sea, and sky,” says Rikke Blæsild, Range and Design Manager at JYSK. 'Raw Beauty' reaches beneath the earth and includes organic raw shapes such as the OTTO vase inspired by water and minerals and the textured VILHELM vase. For the 'Renewing' assortment, colours like apple green and dusty grape are introduced across furniture and homeware, including the BYNKEL mirror with a dusty purple frame and the organic decorative bowl BJORK in green 🍏 Which design direction is your favourite – Raw Beauty or Renewing?

It is difficult to look away once you have seen it with your own eyes 👇 For 20 years, JYSK and Lars Larsen Group have supported Danmarks Indsamling, Denmark’s national fundraising show that focuses on some of the world’s most urgent humanitarian crises 💙 Through our commitment, we have the opportunity to see what our and other’s donations mean for the organisations that provide support where it is needed most. For instance, the tragic situation in Uganda and the neighbouring countries. Uganda currently hosts the largest refugee population in Africa. More than 1.9 million people have sought safety in the country, and around half of them are children fleeing hunger and conflict – primarily from South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Every day, new refugees arrive with hopes of a safer life and a better future. Yet the crisis in Uganda is just one of many around the world that receive far too little attention, despite their scale and long-term consequences for children’s futures. That is exactly why Danmarks Indsamling exists. 👉 And this year’s Danmarks Indsamling takes place on 31 January on Danish national television where the focus of the fundraising is children in the world’s forgotten crises. We hope as many people and organisations as possible will donate to the good cause.

Working together across borders for the first time🤝 JYSK Switzerland and JYSK Austria are taking an important step forward in talent development ✅ The two neighbouring countries have recently launched a joint District Manager Trainee Programme, bringing trainees together across borders to build a strong leadership foundation before stepping into their future roles as District Managers. “Co-training across borders has been incredibly enriching. Bringing together Swiss and Austrian perspectives creates deeper discussions, stronger reflections and a more holistic leadership development. The trainees benefit not only from the content, but from learning with and from each other,” says Gresa Fazliu, HR Business Partner at JYSK Switzerland. 2026 - bring it on. We are ready 🚀

Meet “Lars Larsen’s Computer” 💻 This week, Executive Secretary and Facility Manager Lis Schøn celebrates her 30-year anniversary at JYSK! 🎉 She was honoured at our Head Office in Aarhus, Denmark, where President & CEO Rami Jensen thanked her for her dedication and contribution throughout the years. Since 1996, Lis has worked closely with JYSK’s executive management team. Not only has she worked with former President & CEO Jan Boegh and current President & CEO Rami Jensen – she also worked closely with our late founder Lars Larsen 🤝 Lars Larsen famously called Lis his “computer”. In 2004, she digitalised his entire handwritten autobiography – every single page, front and back 📘✍️ Lis is so much more than an Executive Secretary. Today, she manages our Aarhus Head Office in Denmark, ensuring everything runs smoothly for the more than 700 colleagues who work there. Her growing responsibilities in facility management, combined with her continued support for the executive team, keep her motivated every day. Congratulations to Lis on 30 incredible years! ⭐ #ProudtobeJYSK
