When storage costs start rising, some teams get squeezed. Others get creative. Recently, a large humanitarian organization saw where disk pricing was heading and knew delays would come at a cost. They were planning to deploy roughly 12 PB of NVMe across multiple systems to support high-performance media workflows, but the timing was not right to install everything immediately. So we did something that was not part of the usual playbook. We arranged to store the full deployment securely in our warehouse until they were ready. It took extra coordination, but it avoided a rushed install and they were able to lock in pricing before costs went up. The early order ended up saving them more than $2M. With disk prices already climbing and more increases expected, stories like this are becoming more common. The teams that stay ahead are not just buying hardware earlier. They are working with partners who understand timing, constraints, and real-world tradeoffs. Sometimes doing right by customers is about helping them avoid problems before they show up.
