What is Two-Way Strong Authentication? In the global standard for AMHS (ATS Message Handling Services), password-based security is no longer enough; this is where Two-Way Strong Authentication plays an important role. This security process uses X.509 PKI verification so that both systems verify each other's identity before any messages are exchanged. It replaces older, insecure password methods, which were sometimes sent "in the clear" with a much safer, trusted process.
