The BBC covered the global AI race between the US and China. And when they needed a real-world example of #IndustrialAI in action, they pointed to IFS. Our partner, Boston Dynamics' robot dog, Spot, detects equipment faults, gas leaks and spills during warehouse inspections - and feeds that data directly into IFS. Our AI then analyses the findings and makes decisions in real time, without human input. It’s a good reminder of where Industrial AI is already operating. I'm in San Francisco this week for #HumanX. I'm hoping to get a read on where we think this industry will go next. A couple of points which I think we'll major on based on the opening keynotes: 1. It's still agents all the way down and teams are catching up with the idea that for an agent to be useful it has to do something for you. I noted the phrase "virtual coworkers" which tracks well with what we're building at IFS with our #digitalworkers. One tension here is to make the agents empowering: we had OpenClaw and elements of Codex / Claude Cowork mentioned multiple times and the winner here will be one which balances ease of use with breadth of applicability. 2. Physical AI is one of the next frontiers and Fei-Fei Li keynote was fascinating. The idea that our AI systems today are essentially unaware of what the physical world is like we know well from her November paper. The challenge is teaching AI to understand 3-dimensional facts and laws in an analogous way to our teaching AI about words and language. This is something I think we at #IFS should (and are) paying close attention to. We work in industries where the physical world is the whole point. If you're at HumanX, come say hi.
