✨ Honoring 30 Years of Service ✨ Today marks the 30th anniversary of the start of the Hawaiʻi National Guard’s role in NATO operations during the Yugoslav Wars. From the skies over Bosnia and Kosovo to radar towers in Hungary and peacekeeping missions on the ground, Hawaiʻi Guardsmen stood shoulder to shoulder with allies in one of the most complex operations of the post–Cold War era. ✈️ The 203rd Air Refueling Squadron deployed KC-135R Stratotankers to Italy and France, keeping NATO fighters fueled and in the fight with a flawless mission record. ✈️ The 199th Fighter Squadron reinforced NATO’s air defense mission in Iceland. 📸 The 117th Public Affairs Team documented peacekeeping efforts in Croatia and Bosnia. 🛫 The 297th Air Traffic Control Flight directed NATO aircraft in Hungary. 🪖 Hawaiʻi Army Guard soldiers served in Bosnia through journalism, intelligence, radar, and logistics roles. 🌏🤝🇵🇭🇺🇸 Celebrating 25 Years of Partnership At Clark Air Base, the Hawai‘i National Guard and the Armed Forces of the Philippines marked a milestone — 25 years of the Indo-Pacific’s longest-running State Partnership. What began in 2000 with a handshake has grown into more than 400 engagements across cyber defense, aviation, disaster response, medical readiness, and reserve force development. Together, we’ve responded to typhoons, strengthened cyber resilience, trained side by side, and built a true Pacific family. This partnership reflects the spirit of bayanihan and Aloha — unity, service, and connection — while reinforcing U.S.–Philippine ties and Indo-Pacific security. Here’s to the next 25 years of growing stronger together, stronger tomorrow. 🌺✨
