Things are heating up for Fervo Energy! 🔥 They’ve drilled the hottest well to date at their new Giga-Scale Geothermal Project, setting a new benchmark in high-temperature geothermal development. This milestone demonstrates not only the scale and precision of the operation, but also the innovative approaches Fervo is taking to unlock clean, reliable energy at unprecedented depths. We’re proud to support Fervo and their team as they continue pushing the boundaries of geothermal innovation. Read more about this milestone below ⬇️
Fervo has drilled the hottest well in the company’s history at our new giga-scale geothermal project site in Millard County, Utah. At the newly announced Project Blanford, our appraisal campaign confirmed resource temperatures exceeding 555°F at ~11,200 feet, well above commercial viability thresholds. Drilled in under 11 days, the appraisal well further de-risks and expands Fervo’s industry-leading pipeline of enhanced geothermal projects. Powered by proprietary, #AI-enabled subsurface analytics, this discovery validates a new geothermal play in hot sedimentary formations—building on Fervo’s proven success in igneous and metamorphic rock and expanding EGS into entirely new geologic settings. These results underscore what’s possible when AI-driven drilling, high-temperature resource development, and disciplined execution come together to develop reliable, carbon-free geothermal power at scale.
