At KIKA GROUP, we believe that a profession is often discovered through real experience. During an apprenticeship, students get to know the daily work in a pet retail environment: learning how to communicate with customers, understand pet needs, and become familiar with different products and their purpose. This experience allows them not only to observe the processes but also to actively participate in the work and gain their first professional skills. Apprenticeships also take place in the Grooming Academy spaces within KIKA GROUP, where students work with clients’ pets and experience the profession of animal care up close. Such experience helps them better understand the specifics of the work, develop practical skills, and decide on their future professional path. This model creates value for both sides. Students gain real work experience, while the company has the opportunity to grow future specialists within its team. More than one colleague working at KIKA today started their professional journey through an apprenticeship. The numbers show growing interest: in 2024, 18 apprentices completed their practice at KIKA, and in 2025, the number reached 35. They were involved in different roles – from grooming assistants to store experts or members of the kennel care team. Last week, Grooming Fiesta Lithuania 2026 took place - the largest grooming event in the Baltic region. 💚🐾 For four days, internationally recognised masters, champion breeders, and dedicated professionals came together around one stage, united by clear standards, technical precision, and a responsible approach to coat and skin care. The programme was focused and practical, covering topics from genetic specifics and hand-stripping techniques to breed-standard preparation and everyday salon challenges. These four days were defined by real knowledge, discipline, and professional respect for the craft. The event once again demonstrated that the Baltic region has a strong and growing grooming community committed to raising standards and advancing expertise. During Grooming Fiesta, Janita J. Plunge also presented her first book, “Mastery of Coat and Skin. My Journey.” The book reflects years of professional experience and practical methodology, presenting a clear approach to quality, responsibility, and long-term care.
