🔒 #DNS #encryption is becoming increasingly popular — but how can clients actually discover the encrypted configurations of their DNS resolvers? In our latest blog post, we dive into how the Discovery of Designated Resolvers (DDR) addresses this challenge. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dqwe6Eyb

Great to see our colleague, Youssef A., presenting at the Workshop on Traffic Measurements for Cybersecurity (WTMC) during IEEE Euro S&P earlier this week! In his talk, he showcased how to leverage #BIMI to build a validated dataset of brands, domain names, and logos. We’re pleased to have supported this year’s workshop edition. 🎉 Our paper has been accepted to ACM CCS'25! This work builds on the #INFERMAL report and investigates the preferences of malicious actors when registering domain names for #phishing — an important step towards understanding and mitigating #DNSAbuse. We're looking forward to presenting it in October.

Are you going to use look into how proactive and reactive security policy change can affect maliciousness in your networks? My team and I drafted a couple of points of considerations and cautious around interpreting the results of the Inferential Analysis of Maliciously Registered Domains (INFERMAL) study by KOR Labs, to put things in perspective. This study specifically focuses on domains that are maliciously registered (not compromised hosts) and compares them with attributes with those of benign domains. The scientific paper is accepted at ACM CCS and going to be presented and published in CCS'25. A highly recommend read for registries, registrars, banks, financial payment providers, and policy makers in general: https://lnkd.in/gN8xdmNh

💡 This document clarifies some of the aspects of the INFERMAL project we recently conducted at KOR Labs. Talk to us at #ICANN83 in Prague to learn more about the study.
Understanding how and why bad actors register domain names for malicious purposes is an ongoing challenge in the effort to reduce #DNSAbuse. What services do attackers prefer when registering domains for phishing? What features seem to deter them? 📢 We’re pleased to share that our Cybersecurity Researcher Yevheniya Nosyk has been selected as a new co-chair of the #RIPE #DNS Working Group. The WG focuses on the operational aspects of DNS, including deployments, measurements, and security. We're pleased to take a more active role in supporting that work. 🗓️ We're attending the #CENTRJamboree2025 in Lyon, where Maciej Korczynski will present the latest findings from INFERMAL—a research project funded by ICANN and conducted by KOR Labs. INFERMAL explores the domain registration preferences of cybercriminals, offering key insights into patterns of #DNSAbuse.
