Project O just won Best Art Direction and Best Card Game at the 2025 GAM3S.GG awards while still in alpha. To say we’re surprised is an understatement. It’s a testament to our UX DNA and our “fewer things, more highly polished” product philosophy. Huge thanks to everyone who voted, believed, playtested, and supported us. And even bigger thanks to our team at Koin Games. The artists, designers, engineers, and testers who pour their hearts (and occasionally their sanity) into making this game special. Awards are great, but the real win is seeing our team’s passion recognized by the industry. We’re motivated, grateful, and absolutely fired up for one hell of a 2026! 🙏 (And yes, we’ll keep stealth-removing placeholder UI before anyone notices.) 😅

  • Koin Games Levels Up: Morteza Rohaninejad Joins the Party We’re stoked to announce that Morteza Rohaninejad has joined Koin Games as our latest Game Designer. If you’ve ever rage-quit a Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone match, chances are Morteza is the kind of player who made that happen. He’s strategic, relentless, and probably holding the exact card he needed… every time. Maybe that’s why his screen name was Rage in the Hearthstone days. Morteza spent several seasons as the #1 ranked Hearthstone player in North America, which basically means he turned min-maxing into a martial art. He’s also worked on the Hearthstone team at Blizzard itself, which is like joining the Jedi Council after soloing the galaxy. Whether it’s a casual board game night or a ruthless deck-builder showdown, Morteza is always chasing that perfect mix of strategy and “wait, you can do that?!” More than anything, he’s here to craft the kind of games that punch boredom in the face and leave players saying “just one more round” three hours later. Welcome to the madness, Morteza.

  • New Engineer Unlocked: Andy Schmitt Joins Koin Games Hold onto your interface; we’ve added another powerhouse to the Koin Games roster. Andy Schmitt has officially joined us as our new Senior Unity Game Systems and UI Engineer. With years of experience building games across solo projects, scrappy startups, and gigantic, spaghetti-coded team environments, Andy is the kind of developer who can walk into a codebase and make it less haunted. He’s got a deep passion for building interconnected systems that actually talk to each other, and UI/UX so clean it practically sparkles. If it’s elegant, intuitive, and oddly satisfying, there’s a good chance Andy’s fingerprints are all over it (digitally, of course). Outside of work, Andy keeps making games because, frankly, he doesn’t know how to stop. He also avoids learning traditional game art by sculpting with clay and using photogrammetry, which is either brilliant, rebellious, or both. Either way, we love it. We couldn’t be more excited to have Andy’s creativity and curiosity on the team. And if building weird, wonderful things with passionate people sounds like your kind of chaos, head to our careers page; we’re hiring!

  • Koin Games Is Amped to Welcome Armando Castillo as Our New QA Lead Armando has spent 25+ years hunting down bugs with the ruthless precision of a hitman in a stealth game (except his targets are code glitches, not NPCs). Armando has led QA teams across gaming and other industries, meaning he’s seen (and survived) some truly horrifying bugs. If a game crashes, a feature breaks, or a pixel is out of place, he’s the guy who’ll find it, fix it, and then casually tell us how it should have been done right the first time. Beyond his QA wizardry, Armando is a strategy game mastermind, puzzle enthusiast, and RPG connoisseur, meaning he’s not just about breaking things — he’s also about outsmarting everyone in the process. We couldn’t be more excited (or slightly terrified) to have him lead the charge in ensuring our games don’t explode on launch day. Join us in welcoming Armando! And if you’re also passionate about making games that actually work, check out our careers page — we’re always on the hunt for more brave souls. Oh, and if you find a bug in the game, we know where Armando lives!
