We had a great time at #BCC2025 — three days packed with strong discussions, technical insights, and plenty of good conversations with the European cybersecurity community in Bucharest. From policy to operations, the sessions highlighted the growing need for collaboration and visibility across networks — something that’s at the heart of what we do at FastNetMon. Thank you The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, for organising! Multiple gaming platforms — including Steam and Riot Games — went offline this week. Early reports point to a possible 29.69 Tbps DDoS attack, suspected to come from the Aisuru botnet. If confirmed, it would be the largest ever recorded. We’ve summarised what’s known so far 👇 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e6zEe4pN #DDoS #CyberSecurity #NetworkSecurity #FastNetMon #Botnets #Gaming #Steam #RiotGames

Cloud or on-prem for DDoS defence? Or, why not both? Choosing between cloud-based scrubbing and on-prem DDoS protection isn’t just technical - the wrong choice can delay mitigation, break SLAs, or cost more long-term. We compare both options with real-world network planning in mind + give you a few hybrid tips. If you missed this one, it’s worth a watch. Pavel joined Inter.link’s Ciprian Abaseaca for a great discussion on the latest DDoS threats, real-world attack cases, and what’s changing across the network landscape 👇
Did you know all of Inter.link's Virtual Sessions (6 so far) are available to watch on YouTube? Our most recent session featured Inter.link's Ciprian Abaseaca and Pavel Odintsov, the Co-Founder of FastNetMon discussing threats across the network landscape and how to defend against DDoS attacks. https://lnkd.in/ec8aTpct #webinar #insight #DDoS

In our latest blog, we break down how ShadowV2 works, why it matters, and what defenders can do about it. Instead of hijacking IoT devices or home routers, attackers deploy containers in public cloud environments — giving them far more bandwidth and CPU for launching attacks. Even worse, victims of these compromises end up footing the cloud bill. Read the news here: https://lnkd.in/eW-ABuN2 #DDoS #CyberSecurity #CloudSecurity #Botnet #FastNetMon

Catching up on RONOG 10 in Bucharest earlier this month! We’ve shared some photos, highlights, and the overall vibe from the event. One of the sessions was our own Virgil Truica talking about “DDoS Attacks 2025: Trends & Mitigation – The Era of Hyper-Scale Attacks.” It was a great mix of technical talks, hallway chats, and of course, the fantastic afterparty! Always good to connect with so many from the operator community - big thanks to the organisers! Next week, FastNetMon will be at Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference 2025! Our colleague Virgil Truica will be on the ground — if you’re coming, we'd love to meet up - drop us a message! We’re always keen to connect with peers in the cybersecurity community and talk about network visibility and DDoS defence. #BCC2025 #Cybersecurity #NetworkSecurity #DDoS

The idea of a DDoS scrubbing centre is simple: filter out malicious traffic at scale and return only clean traffic to the network. The execution, however, is where it becomes complex: cost and latency are the reasons why scrubbing all traffic is not optimal FastNetMon has invested heavily in building out automation for scrubbing centre diversion. At its core, this means identifying the exact prefix under attack - typically a /24 in IPv4 or a /48 in IPv6 - and triggering an automatic route announcement towards the scrubbing provider. Once the provider confirms the announce, malicious traffic is diverted to scrubbing, and when FastNetMon withdraws the announce, traffic flows normally again. Our vendor-neutral approach doesn’t lock operators into a single provider. Instead, you can use FastNetMon to manage multiple scrubbing centre relationships simultaneously, or to select the provider best suited to the scale and geography of an attack.
